MasterCard's Zero Liability if Your Card is Lost or Stolen
With MasterCard's Zero Liability you have peace of mind knowing you are not responsible for fraudulent uses of your account. If you promptly notify us about an unauthorized transaction involving your card and the unauthorized transaction took place on your MasterCard® branded card, including any PIN-based ATM or POS transactions, zero liability will be imposed on you for the unauthorized transaction. In order to qualify for the zero liability protection, you must have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding your card from the risk of loss or theft and, upon becoming aware of such loss or theft, promptly reported the loss or theft to us.
If your card is lost or stolen. Simply report the loss or theft as soon as possible by calling 1-800-500-1044 to deactivate the card then call Calhoun Banks at 304-354-6106 to have a replacement card issued.
How Do I get a Debit/Check Card?
Stop by any Calhoun Banks location to request a Debit MasterCard®. Remember, you must have a checking account with us to receive a Debit MasterCard®. Your card will be mailed to you within ten business days. You will need to call the phone number that came with the card to activate it - just like a credit card activation.
How do I make purchases with a Debit Card?
Just swipe your card at any merchant accepting MasterCard® and enter your PIN or sign for your purchase. It's as easy as that. You may also use your card for online or phone-based purchases by simply following the instructions provided.
What's the difference between Debit and Credit when making a purchase with my card?
At check out merchants may ask you to select 'debit' or 'credit'. When choosing 'debit', you will have to enter your PIN to complete the transaction. When choosing 'credit', you will sign the receipt. With either choice, your purchase is deducted from your checking account.
